A good profile
I'm not talking about taking a profile pic to post online. If you’re like me, you need to take at least 29 shots to get one you would actually put out there! No, I’m talking about flavor profiles. Talkin’ about food, of course : )
Like with art, in the kitchen, a good blank canvas to start with is your basic chicken breast (or thigh, if you prefer). Everyone thinks it’s “Just. Boring. Chicken. Again”. But, once you consider all the regions of the world and the directions you can take that bird just by switching up your spices and other elements, it gets interesting, and a lot more fun to cook. And let’s face it, cooking needs to be at least a little fun, or we don’t bother, right?! So, where do you want to go tonight?…
— Italy? Basil, Oregano, Garlic (of course). But also Fennel, Fresh lemon, capers…
— France? Herbs de Provence, Mustard, Shallots, a little white wine…
— Middle East? Parsley, Paprika, fresh Dill, Cumin seed, lemon…
— Asia? Basil, Ginger, 5 Spice, Fresh Scallion, Sesame oil…
Get it? In our house, we often find some music to fit the mood and it’s (almost) like a mini-vacation… have fun : )
